Detox drinks are a must to help your body melt away stubborn belly fat. A few that have become quite popular over the internet (for good reason too!) are my apple cider vinegar drink, green detox juice, lemon cucumber mint detox water, these 4 detox water recipes, and fruit infused detox waters.
All of these drinks, including this green machine juice, are beneficial to cleanse the body for weight loss, promote vibrant skin, increases hydration, energy, reduce hypertension and flush away toxins!
I have been loving all the fresh juices at our local juicer and this is another favorite beverage like this green drink recipe that I started making at home! If you want to turn it into a smoothie, add some ice and just blend the ingredients in a blender. Trust me, you will feel AMAZING after drinking this one too!
The only difference between juicing and drinking it as a smoothie is that juicing (or blending and straining) removes the fibers which is easier for digestion. This allows the body to absorb the nutrients faster as it is not working on processing or breaking down the fibers and nutrients quickly goes into the bloodstream.
What is blended together here is a combination of kale, chard, romaine lettuce, cucumber, celery, lemon, lime, apple, ginger and coconut water. All of which these ingredients combined refresh the body, add a massive boost of hydration, reverse oxidation stress (cause of aging) and is a quick and efficient way to get your fruits and vegetables into your daily diet!
When to drink this green juice for detox?
The best time of day to drink this is first thing in the morning, 20-30 minutes before eating anything else to boost the body with the nutrients it needs. You can even break it up after drinking warm lemon water, or in place of it. If you are doing a detox juice cleanse, this green machine juice is wonderful to add to that by drinking a few glasses of this throughout the day as you “fast”.

Next, make the juice in a blender or use a juicer.
How to make homemade green juice in a blender or juicer
Blender: Add the produce and coconut water (all the ingredients) to a blender. Blend until smooth then use a nut bag or mesh bag to strain out the fibers. To do so, place the mesh bag over a bowl and pour the juice into the bag. Hold the top and squeeze the bag tightly to remove all the juice. This may need to be done repeatedly a few times.
I am obsessed with this Vitamix and this mesh / nut bag as both are top-of-the-line for blending and straining.
Pour the juice into a glass to serve. Best served chilled or over ice.
In a juicer: If using a juicer, you can can skip the coconut water as an option. It is used in the blender to help it mix and add nutrients and it does add delicious sweetness. Add all the ingredients to a juicer and enjoy! Best served chilled or over ice.
